Dear colleagues,

welcome to the June newsletter with the latest information.

Prof. Jens Strackeljan was re-elected as Rector of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg on 15.05.2024. Yesterday, Angela Matthies became the first woman in the history of the University of Magdeburg to head the administration. Between June 18 and 25, 2024 you can use your right to vote for the senate, faculty councils, equal oppurtunity officer and several more. More information here.

In addition, would you like to learn how diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice feature in teaching and research? Or would you like to develop strategies for your own teaching and research practice in the context of a diverse institution? Then register for the on-site course Diversity Awareness in Teaching and Research at OVGU.

	New@OVGU? For scientists who are new at OVGU, the Graduate Academyregularly offers an open information and discussion round on ZOOM. After an overview of the structure and basic tasks, and a little insight into the not so obvious responsibilities, there will be plenty of time to answer individual questions. next possibility: 05.07.2024, 10.00-10.30 am

	“Limitless: Your perspective on diversity and inclusion at OVGU" This is the motto of the current photo competition at OVGU, organized by Equal Opportunities and Diversity Network and EU GREEN Network on the occasion of the 12th German Diversity Day. The closing date for submission of photos is 18.06.2024. More information on conditions of participation and image rights can be found here.

The COMETiN programme will start a new series from October 2024. COMETiN consists of four modules: COACHING, MENTORING, TRAINING AND NETWORKING. COMETiN is aimed at women who want to actively shape their professional future and aspire to a professorship or other leadership role in science and research.
