Getting Started for new PhD students & Postdocs
We would like to give scientists who are new to OVGU a little start-up help and regularly offer an open information and discussion round on ZOOM. After an overview of the structure and basic tasks, and a little insight into the not so obvious responsibilities, there will be plenty of time to answer individual questions. We cordially invite you to get to know OVGU in general and the Graduate Academy's services in particular, so that your start will be as smooth as possible. We speak English and German.
Information for people interested in doing a doctorate
Are you on fire for science? At the end of the master thesis there are more questions than answers? Your professor offers you a PhD position? There are many good reasons to start a PhD and there are many open questions you are welcome to ask us. We offer regular online information and advice sessions, feel free to drop by. We speak German and English.

Teaching Academy 2025 at the OVGU
The year 2025 has begun, and as usual, we would like to recommend our regular offerings as part of the Teaching Academy. In addition to face-to-face events, digital teaching and communication media will be used, providing location-independent and, in some cases, time-independent access. This year, we have expanded our program with new e-lecture formats and included interesting topics, such as how to explain concepts effectively in (STEM) teaching or how to convey complex content clearly.
New Student-Led Formats for Teachers
Additionally, through the eSALSA collaborative project, a new format is being introduced: Offers for Teachers from OVGU Students. Students have developed ideas on how teaching can be improved from their perspective. They now invite you to join the conversation and participate in specially designed formats. We would like to particularly highlight this student engagement and the corresponding events.
Flexible and Free Participation
All higher education didactic training events, including e-lecture formats, are available as part of the Winter Academy, completely web-based/online or hybrid, and as always, free of charge.
The Spring Academy 2025 will take place from February 25 to March 6. The program overview and details on registration can be found at: www.ovgu.de/lehrentwicklung
